Parkhill Freeman had the pleasure of conducting the civil and structural designs
of a new family home in Toorak. The works around the boundary of this narrow site
took considerable care and forethought. In particular, the excavations for the
specialized 13,500L underground rainwater recycling tanks and swimming pool had to
be considered to protect the neighbouring properties, as well as ensuring the design that
would be cost effective to build.
This attention to detail was continued in the framing of the 3.7m slot kitchen window splash back and the suspended brick veneer perimeter walls. With careful consideration of the final architectural look, a framing system was able to be devised that simplified the construction process, resulting in a speedier construction and reduced cost.
